A Cleanliness Drive was organized on 2nd October, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, by the NSS Unit of the University of Mumbai to honour Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of cleanliness, hygiene, and civic responsibility. The initiative aimed to spread public awareness about maintaining clean surroundings and to reinforce the idea that “cleanliness is next to godliness,” a principle strongly advocated by Gandhiji. During the drive, NSS volunteers actively cleaned public spaces, interacted with citizens, and encouraged them to adopt good hygiene practices in their daily lives. The activity motivated students to take responsibility for their environment and inspired the community to participate in keeping public places neat and tidy. The event was successfully conducted with the support of our Principal, Dr. Prashant M. Shinde, and under the guidance of the NSS Volunteer Head, ensuring proper coordination and enthusiastic participation from all volunteers..
