The Diwali Celebration was organized by the NSS Unit of Vedanta College with the purpose of spreading joy, love, and warmth among the elderly at the old age home and the children at the orphanage. The event aimed to celebrate the festival of lights not only through traditional festivities but by sharing meaningful moments, smiles, and companionship with those who cherish human connection the most. NSS volunteers interacted with the residents, distributed sweets, performed cultural activities, and lit diyas to bring festive cheer to the surroundings. The visit created an atmosphere filled with happiness, bonding, and emotional support. This initiative also helped volunteers understand their social responsibility while developing empathy, leadership qualities, and teamwork. The activity reinforced the true spirit of community service, reflecting the NSS motto — “Not Me But You,” and reminded students of the value of kindness and compassion in building a better society. The programme was successfully conducted with the support of Principal Dr. Prashant M. Shinde and the guidance of the NSS Committee Head, ensuring active and heartfelt participation from all volunteers. .
