Vedanta College successfully organized an Awareness Session on Thalassemia on 23rd January 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the objective of spreading awareness about thalassemia, its causes, prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis and blood donation. The session featured eminent speakers Mr. Siddhesh Indore, District Coordinator – Thalassemia (M5 Analytical Chemistry) and Founder of Garad Foundation, along with Dr. Vivek Bonde, MD Pathologist and Chief BTO at Kai Wamanrao Oka Blood Centre, Thane. The speakers provided valuable insights into thalassemia management, screening methods, and the role of blood centers in supporting patients. The event was conducted by the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) in collaboration with Kai Wamanrao Oka Blood Centre, Thane. The session was informative, interactive, and highly beneficial for students, enhancing their understanding of this genetic blood disorder and encouraging social responsibility.
